When you watch and listen to thousands of doctors talking, creating, curating and commenting, you’ll find that there those who maintain their presence with remarkable balance and equanimity. They talk to the point of being human but never to the point of being inhumane. They’re open enough that they’re different. They share to a degree that doesn’t represent over-involvement. They’re transparent to the point where we can see that they’re like us, but never to the point to offend. Their voices are beautiful and defined. They’ve found themselves.
Finding this balance is one of the challenges we face individually and as a profession.
Perhaps we should spend our time looking for amazing role models rather than hard definitions, task forces, guidelines, policies, rules and regulations.

My role model: Terry Kind, @Kimd4Kids . Tweetiatrician extraordinaire! She is all the policy/guideline one would ever need.
I love this concept … human guidelines! You could do a lot worse than following the 20-or-so doctors we’ve profiled through #MDigitalLife.
All of their blogs’ RSS feeds are bundled here: http://bit.ly/NFgZAF
All of their twitter accounts are in this list: http://bit.ly/ILz9Sj

The #MDigitalLife Alumni are a pretty amazing group!
