When when my kids were young I would return to my office after they were in bed to finish charts. There I would periodically narrate my chart completion progress with cryptic Twitter updates. In the late silence of the Texas Children’s Health Center in 2008, social connection offered a sense of solidarity among a small but growing number of physicians.
So when I started this site, the name 33 charts made sense. Perhaps more importantly the URL was available.
Now I’m better about completing my charts by the end of clinic. Status updates have since gone the way of MySpace. And Twitter, of course, has evolved as place for more serious sharing.
But the name and the site remains.
