Curators and Dumpers: Twitter’s Two Citizens

November 17, 2015 By Bryan Vartabedian · Reading Time: < 1 minutes

CuratorsIn the information age we’re increasingly defined by who we listen to. After 7 years I’ve found that there are two types of social citizens on Twitter: Curators and dumpers.

  • Curators are careful and intentional with what they share.
  • Dumpers create movement, visibility and noise. Like a type of digital brownian movement, the dumper is constantly running and waving.

The curator delivers with the intent of creating value. The dumper delivers whatever drives her own visibility.

My intent and how I might be perceived is something that runs through my mind every time I hit send.

Are you a curator or dumper?
