Fragmented connectivity was a recurring theme at the Stanford Summit/Medicine 2.0 Congress. Everyone’s working on a solution to connect doctors with doctors – a doctors silo. Patients have been connecting for some time. But no one has figured out how to allow doctors and patients to connect in a meaningful way.
There are lots of EHR applications but few are willing to talk to one another.
For generations anxious parents have asked the same questions over and over again. And in clinics the world over pediatricians have been delivering the very same answers. Each parent/pediatrician dyad is removed from the other just a block away. Questions are asked and answered in isolation.
The self-quants collect discreet buckets of personal data within one body but can’t seem to pull it all together to make sense.
We’re good at creating focused solutions. We’re not so good at bridging those solutions to fix the bigger problems.
