My 3 Words for 2014

January 1, 2014 By Bryan Vartabedian · Reading Time: < 1 minutes

IMG_2873Every year I try to come up with words that will define my year and my thinking.  It’s the brainchild of Chris Brogan who’s been doing it for years.  Like him, I find the 3 word exercise more meaningful than a resolution.

  • Opportunity.  In 2014 I’ll work to leverage what I know and understand for new, less traditional opportunities.  To date, few of my skills have been put in the right direction.  I’ll work to bring new these opportunities to bear this year.
  • Equanimity.  Balance in inputs, work/life, physical/emotional will be important.  Balance in a world of public dialog is a constant struggle and one that needs adjustment on a daily, if not hourly, basis.  I have recently started meditating.
  • Vision.  While I have always had an eye on the future, I will work in new ways to define this role for myself and shape/package it in a way that’s prescriptive and helpful to others.  This ties back tightly to opportunity.

More on this later….What are your words?
