Today at the WCG SXSW pre-conference I listened Senior Vice President and General Manager of Qualcomm Life Rick Valencia draw out his heady vision of where health is headed. By creating the 2net Platform, one of the world’s most comprehensive mobile health ecosystems, Qualcomm Life is reinventing the world of wireless healthcare. Qualcomm Life is base on the 2net Platform, a cloud-based system designed to be interoperable with different devices and applications allowing medical device users and their physicians or caregivers to easily access biometric data. Rick has launched a $100 million fund to accelerate wireless health companies like Airstrip, Asthmapolis, BiancaMed, Myglucohealth, Resmed and others.
This is the future of medicine. Qualcomm Life smells like an evolving Amazon of mobile health.
Once a place for flip-flow wearin’, skateboard ridin’ technogeeks in earth tone tee shirts, SXSW is evolving as a center for seriously emergent health ideas.
