Health Tech Startups – 2011 SXSW Accelerator

December 1, 2010 By Bryan Vartabedian · Reading Time: < 1 minute

This is big:  The 2011 SXSW Accelerator is expanding in 2011 to cover health.   I’m honored this year to be on the SXSW Accelerator Advisory Board and we’re looking for great companies in need of big exposure.

SXSW Accelerator is part of the SXSW Interactive Festival taking place March 14-16 in Austin, Texas.  For the uninitiated, SXSW Accelerator Presented by Microsoft BizSpark is the premier showcase featuring the web’s most exciting innovations.  It’s an outlet for start ups to present their web-based technologies and services related to social networking, news, entertainment, and health.  You’re effectively dancing in front of an interested panel of industry experts, early adapters, and representatives from the Venture Capitalist community.

If you’re a health-related startup this is a huge opportunity to be seen by some of the most influential thinkers in the industry.

This year’s new Health Technologies category is focused on patient-centric health apps and technologies that connect patients, families, physicians, pharmacists, and benefit providers to share health data and drive better outcomes at affordable and sustainable cost levels.

(Put me on a monitor.  I’m tachycardic)

To be eligible, your product must NOT have launched before March 15, 2010.  Or product must plan to launch by June 15, 2011.

But the deadline of December 10th 2010 is fast approaching.  Check out the Accelerator site to learn more.
