Can We be More Human?

June 24, 2020 By Bryan Vartabedian · Reading Time: < 1 minute

More humanWill computers make us more human? The argument has been made as AI continues its march in and around us.

It’s kind of an odd question because how can we be more human than we already are? We can only be as human as we are. We can only be us.

Okay, you could reasonably argue that technology has pulled us away from one another and made us more distant and detached from our core human agenda. We’ve lost ourselves on some level, maybe. We need to pull back together. In that case maybe the question should be reframed, will technology make us human again?

I’ll buy the argument of more human if you think we’ve perhaps become measurably less human.

Until then we can not be more human than we already are.
