When Geriatricians Walk from Medicare

Check out the New York Times and the tale of one geriatrician who walked away from Medicare.  Better yet, read the comments which reflect a misunderstanding of the realities of modern doctoring.

So long as Medicare won’t pay doctors for what they do, doctors won’t be able to care for those with Medicare.

While healthcare should be a basic right for all seniors, it’s not the responsibility of Dr Kernisan and her family to personally absorb the shortcomings of a broken system.

Hats off to you, Dr. Kernisan.  And good luck.
